I’ve set up a new domain to contain all things Ron Paul and liberty related in an attempt to separate my personal blog from the political blog. I’ve duplicated all political content from this blog to the new site.
Please visit http://libertymaven.com/ for all new Ron Paul and liberty related posts.
Their 30 day suspension is up tomorrow and XM didn’t fire them. In fact, XM has used their return as an attempt to boost subscribers. I can’t fault them for that. I have resubscribed myself, albeit, on a monthly basis. We’ll see how it goes.
After getting a mass email from XM stating that Opie and Anthony will return and anyone who resubscribes their activation fee will be waived, XM Spokesman Chance Patterson comes out in the Washington Times saying, “We will not be censoring Opie and Anthony”.
One has to wonder if the reported mass cancellations and the “People Against Censorship” organization had anything to do with them not being fired, and XM pushing them back on the air with a bit of fanfare.
We may never know, but Opie and Anthony are back on XM, for now. And to me that is good.

I haven’t written about my children here as of yet and figured another posting unrelated to politics would be welcomed. I have 2 wonderful kids. The firstborn is Kyra. She was pretty much a perfectly behaved baby. Listened to us from the beginning for the most part. Rarely cried unless something was really really upsetting. Always ate well. She is 3 years old now. Then came Kylan. Wow. What a handful. He never has eaten well. Has been to see just about every medical specialist known to man, and he still doesn’t eat properly. He’s starting to sleep properly though. He is almost 20 months old. (more…)
An Opportunity For XM
This is the letter I sent to XM management regarding the suspension of Opie and Anthony.
XM has chosen to suspend Opie and Anthony for 30 days due to comments they made on the air referencing their situation after airing an interview with a homeless man who spoke of having violent sex with Condoleeza Rice, Laura Bush, and the Queen of England.
This news has made me sad and angry. Along with many other fans of the show and free speech.
This commentary is music to my ears. This is a guy who gets it. This is a great read. The majority of the articles and television news stories never bothered to investigate what really happened. They all point to a “character” on Opie and Anthony’s show. The person who made the comments was not a “character”. He was a homeless man being interviewed.
No one reporting on the story is taking the time to point that discrepency out (other than the article linked to above). This fact is really the heart of the matter.

Yesterday Opie and Anthony, on a whim, as evidenced by Opie saying just prior to the interview “should we talk to this guy?”, interviewed a black man who ended up being a slightly crazy potty mouthed homeless guy. The man was NOT a character on the show. This point is very important. He ended up saying some rather horrifying things about having sex with Condoleeza Rice, Mrs. Bush, etc.. His comments were littered with offensive words and suggestions. Opie and Anthony were laughing during the interview at the craziness of his comments. A day passes and then…
I’m ecstatic that my beloved Seahawks selected Josh Wilson from the University Of MD with their first pick (#55) in the NFL draft over the weekend. So much has to align perfectly for something like this to happen.
I was hoping for them to pick him, but no one was talking about him as a possibility for the Seahawks prior to the draft so I figured it wouldn’t happen. When I read that he was picked it brought a big smile to my face. He can play and will help the Seahawks greatly in my opinion.
I will get to cheer on a player from my favorite college team on my favorite NFL team. I love it. love it. love it.
The Opie and Anthony radio show sucked me in when I tuned them in on XM Satellite radio a couple years ago. They were playing audio from various movies airing on TNT or WTBS or some cable network. They were goofing on the way the movies were cleaned up for airing on television. Bad words and phrases, rather than being bleeped out, were completely replaced with new words and phrases. This made them sound ridiculous.
